How to Get Here:

The city of Córdoba is the capital of the province with the same name, which, along with the other seven Andalusian provinces, forms the Autonomous Community of Andalusia.

The province of Córdoba covers an area of 13,723.20 square kilometers, representing 2.7% of Spain's surface area. Its population exceeds 750,000 inhabitants, with the most important population centers being Lucena, Montilla, Cabra, Baena, Priego de Córdoba, Palma del Río, Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo, Pozoblanco, and Villanueva de Córdoba.

Córdoba city has 300,000 inhabitants, making it the third-largest provincial capital in Andalusia, after Seville and Málaga. It is located in the Guadalquivir Valley, along the banks of the river, between Sierra Morena to the north and the fertile plain of the Córdoba countryside to the south.

The climate of our city can be considered Mediterranean, although it exhibits characteristics of the inland continental climate, with very hot, dry summers and cold, rainy winters.

To reach Córdoba by plane, the nearest airports are Seville, Málaga, or Madrid, cities with which Córdoba is very well connected by both rail and road.

There are several road options to reach Córdoba, as the city is located at one of the most important road junctions in southern Spain.

  • From Madrid (400 km), Córdoba can be reached via the A-4 highway, in approximately 4 hours.
  • From Seville (140 km), it takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach Córdoba via the A-4.
  • From Málaga (182 km), Córdoba is also reachable in about 2 hours via the national road 331.

Dear students:

It is a true pleasure to give you the most cordial welcome to the official website of the Faculty of Labor Sciences of the University of Cordoba (UCO). The following degrees are currently in residence in our faculty: Degree in Labor Relations and Human Resources; Degree in Tourism; Degree in Tourism (Bilingual itinerary); and Double Degree in Tourism + Translation and Interpretation.

The Degree in Labor Relations and Human Resources is designed to generate genuine professionals demanded by society to face the new challenges in terms of legal organization of work and social security, human resources, work organization studies, prevention risks and labor market, and many other key professional profiles linked to the world of labor sciences.

In the case of the Tourism, the UCO opted for a degree that will fully provide qualified professionals to the sector, which is essential for our province, Cordoba. Indeed, local companies in this sector are continually demanding graduates with solid training in business management based on the tourism and leisure business, advancing in a model that must be renewed and diversified in its offers, while reducing costs and maintaining structures of value, with quality and qualified human capital. The challenge of new technologies and the growing internationalization of the sector make it fundamental to incorporate young graduates into management and organizational responsibility positions, with robust training in the different managerial areas of the company and tourism activity. This is the utmost purpose of the Faculty of Labor Sciences and the UCO today.

In recent years, our Faculty has made an undoubted effort to improve the quality of the degrees it delivers, making possible for the academic degrees offered to adapt their professional profile to the current socioeconomic context, and to be flexible enough to adjust to the breadth of professional opportunities associated with their fields of research/studies. Proof of all this is the recent launching of the one and only Bilingual Itinerary (full English) for the Tourism Degree properly verified by the ACCUA (Agency for Scientific Quality of Andalusian Universities).

Finally, this virtual space that is made available to you is intended to be an instrument to guide your academic experience at the Faculty, reflecting the necessary information about our studies - study plans, schedules, exam calendar, etc. - our teaching staff, other available services, and the Center's management team.

I will celebrate that these contents facilitate your orientation in your studies; those that you will have to face with enthusiasm, judgment, and discipline.

With kind regards,

Dr. Nuria Ceular Villamandos

Dean of the Faculty of Labor Sciences (UCO)
