Rationale
Rationale
Since the academic year 2001/2002, the University of Cordoba has been offering a joint curriculum leading to the acquisition of a double degree in Technical Engineering of Public Works and Technical Engineering of Mining.
The close professional relationship between the Technical Engineer of Mining and the Technical Engineer of Public Works, is evident in the fact that construction companies demand graduates of mining for the underground constructions handling of explosives, among other things. Conversely, mining companies need engineers of public works, for the construction of infrastructures. This synnergy resulted in the creation of a joint curriculum in the Polytechnic University School of Belmez. This joint curriculum allows that in only 4 years a student can obtain the title of Technical Engineer of Mining, with the specialty of Mining and of Technical Engineer of Public Works with the specialty of Civil Constructions. Currently a student could get the title of Graduate in Civil Engineering and in Mining Resources (in 5 years).
