Almost the first year of work, a multidisciplinary team of researchers from the ceiA3 Agrifood Campus of International Excellence at the University of Córdoba involved the LIFE+bioDehesa Project called 'Dehesa ecosystem: Development of policies and tools for the conservation and management of biodiversity' (LIFE11 BIO/ES/726) has met to discuss the main contributions and achievements made.
Almost after one year of work in Project LIFE+bioDehesa called 'Dehesa ecosystem: Development of policies and tools for the conservation and management of biodiversity ' ( LIFE11 BIO/ES/726 ), the multidisciplinary team of researchers from the ceiA3 Agrifood Campus of International Excellence at the University of Córdoba involved has met to discuss the main contributions and achievements made. During this time, the team of 11 researchers , 4 recruited staff and 4 fellows in areas such as botany, ecology and plant physiology, forestry engineering, plant pathology and animal production have developed two separate protocols, in collaboration with the Laboratory of Plant Production Health in Sevilla, to assess the incidence of decay in Dehesa (pasture) farms and isolation of Phytophthora cinnamomi and Pythium spiculum from root and soil samples. It has also made a proposal for a set of indicators to identify, characterize and evaluate temporal, spatial , environmental, socioeconomic , productive, technological and biodiversity aspects in order to analyze the situation of pastures.
Likewise, the research team has made a proposal to improve the methodology of diagnosis and clinical analysis of Dehesa ecosystems, in collaboration with the Institute of Agricultural and Fisheries Research and Training (http://www.juntadeandalucia.es/agriculturaypesca/ifapa/web), through new technologies such as unmanned air flights (UAVs, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) . In this regard, demonstrations of prototypical flights have been conducted in various exploitations of the Dehesa network.
This team has also collaborated in the drafting of the Integrated Management Plan (PGI, Planes de Gestión Integral) as defined in the ‘Directive Plan of Andalusia Dehesas’ and has participated in the Advice and Training Sessions organized by the Institute of Agricultural and Fisheries Research and Training as part of this project.
