European legislation requires greater controls of devices used for application of plant protection products from the air.

Directive 128/2009 on the sustainable use of pesticides and Royal Decree 1702/2001 on regular inspections define the legal framework to ensure effectiveness and safety of devices used for application of plant protection products on the fields from the air. Europe especially watches this way of using plant protection products. Therefore, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development has designed a custom protocol for inspection of these devices, a project which has been carried out by a research team at the Agrifood Campus of International Excellence ceiA3, at the University of Cordoba, led by Professor Jesús Gil Ribes and ehich will be presented on Thursday, December 19 at 9.15 am at Cordoba airport by Professor Gregorio Blanco Roldán.
It will be part of the 'Informative Day for maintenance and calibration of aircraft equipment used for application of plant protection products' , organized by the General Directorate of Agricultural and Livestock Production (http://www.juntadeandalucia.es/organismos/agriculturapescaydesarrollorural/consejeria/sgaa/dgpag.html) and includes a practical demonstration of the revision proteocol.
